Applications are now being accepted until February 28, 2022, for the Cascade Warbirds Scholarship.
Cascade Warbirds, Squadron #2 of EAA Warbirds of America is a non-profit group of about 250 members in the Puget Sound area of Washington state. The scholarship is valued at $1350 and the organization teams up with several flight schools local to the Puget Sound area to provide scholarship recipients with tuition, books, and supplies, as well as two introductory instructional flights for ground school.
Ground school includes classroom lectures, visual presentations, group discussions, practical exercises, and field trips. Successful completion of ground school qualifies students to take the FAA Private Pilot Written Exam.
In addition to the ground school scholarships, Cascade Warbirds also offers a $2500 Continuing Aviation Education Grant to one recipient who intends to earn an FAA private pilot certificate in the next year. The deadline for applications is September 30th of the year the student plans to attend school.
