Customer Spotlight: Air Methods

We enjoy featuring our customers as often as we can get. Today we are highlighting Air Methods, an air medical transport company that partners with hospitals to provide air transport for patients, especially those in rural areas.

Air Methods began in 1980 when founder Roy Morgan realized the desperate need for adequately equipped and staffed medical helicopter service. He started the company with a single contract with a Colorado hospital and a pledge for safety and outstanding patient care. Air Methods has retained those values and grown to not only provide air medical transport services to hospitals nationwide but also provide clinical training programs. They are also now a leading provider of medical aircraft and land vehicle equipment and systems.

We chose to highlight Air Methods because of their longstanding commitment to providing safe and effective air medical services and transportation to even the most rural areas of the US. They have risen above and beyond to fulfill this commitment by adding clinical training programs and a division that designs, integrates, and installs medical equipment, avionics, and vehicle accessories for emergency first responders, airborne law enforcement, and search and rescue teams. We are grateful for their significant and positive contribution to saving lives.

Highlighting this company reminds us of a need we feel led to mention–air ambulance insurance. We are not affiliated with any air ambulance insurance company, but in our line of work, we get the need for it better than most. Most health insurers provide air ambulance cover options, but it’s up to you to ensure your policy includes the coverage.

We strongly encourage our readers and customers to make a call to their health insurance provider to inquire about your air ambulance coverage. It’s not enough just to have air ambulance coverage, you need to know the details of the coverage. Some policies may only cover some of the costs leaving you to make up the rest. If you’re in a position where you can switch to a plan that includes optimal coverage for air ambulance services, it could be a wise decision, especially if you or a loved one has serious medical conditions.

Air medical services are a vital part of our communities. Air Methods is a leader in companies providing these services and Rebel Services is proud to be a part of their mission to save lives.
