Though his official title at Rebel Services is “Scheduler” Justin Dozier wears many other hats on the job. Justin begins his day by making sure the technicians have their work orders and all parts they will need for the week. After that, he spends a good bit of time on the phone discussing issues with customers and talking with technicians.
Born in Andalusia and raised in Decatur, Alabama, Justin found his way to North Mississippi when he enrolled in Blue Mountain College to earn a Christian Ministry degree. He uses that degree in his position as Youth Minister at Palmer Baptist church where he serves in addition to his full-time gig here at Rebel Services.
Before landing at Rebel Services in Ripley, Justin tried out a few different jobs. In high school, Justin spent time slinging tickets and popcorn at a movie theater before moving on to stocking shelves at Publix. After high school, Justin went to work framing houses with his stepfather before surrendering to the ministry and making the move to Mississippi.
Some days at Rebel Services, Justin spends time creating quotes and sending them out to customers. But most of his days are spent looking over reports to determine what jobs have all the parts available and planning out the month’s work as far in advance as possible. As with any service company, unplanned problems usually arise, and Justin will work with his colleagues to adjust the schedule accordingly. Sometimes, the best thing to do is just go with the flow and expect the unexpected.
Justin says his relationships with his fellow co-workers are his favorite thing about working at Rebel Services. Justin believes that we employ some of the best people in the country, and we definitely agree!
Cutting up with each other when the time is right (and sometimes when it isn’t!) is one of Justin’s favorite ways to bond with his co-workers. He looks back fondly on a memory of finally catching Mr. Tommy making a small flaw in a new register head for a project out in California. Mr. Tommy is known for pointing out good work as well as mistakes made when observing projects by others. So when Justin discovered Mr. Tommy’s small mistake, he couldn’t wait to share it with our electrician Johnny Breland so he could give Mr. Tommy a (playfully) hard time.
Another fun work story actually highlights a mistake made by Justin himself! He was tasked with filling up a service truck and was told quite specifically not to fill up the truck with gasoline. Justin listened well on that part--he didn’t put any gasoline in the truck. However, he did fill the truck with off-road diesel fuel, which wasn’t the right fuel, either.
Justin stays busy with a variety of activities when he’s not working for Rebel Services. He spends much of his time planning and carrying out events with the youth group at Palmer Baptist Church where he is the church’s youth minister. During the warmer months, Justin enjoys playing slow-pitch softball and traveling around the Southeast. During the fall and winter, Justin’s favorite activity is hunting.
In addition to being part of our Rebel Services family, Justin has his own growing family at home. He and his wife, Maggie, are expecting their first child in 2022! In the meantime, Justin and Maggie are proud pet parents to pups, Cooper and Odin, and a kitty named Milo.
