March 28 Deadline Set for New Funding Opportunity from FAA and DOT

The Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration recently announced the opportunity to apply for approximately $1 billion in the fiscal year 2022 discretionary funds in the newly established Airport Terminal Program (ATP). The funds are made possible under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 (IIJA). The purpose of the ATP is to provide annual grants to improve infrastructure in airport terminals at eligible airports across the country.

We encourage all airports to do their research to find out if their airport qualifies for the funding. Do not let the overload of information prevent you from learning if your airport qualifies for this funding opportunity. This funding can improve your airport and, in turn, help your community by increasing aviation awareness, bringing in revenue, and encouraging industries to set up an operation in your town.

Airport sponsors who wished to be considered for FY 2022 ATP discretionary funding should submit an application meeting requirements by no later than 5 pm Eastern on March 28, 2022. Applications can be submitted electronically at http://www.faa.gov/bil/airport-terminals
