The future of carbon emissions

The majority of carbon credits focus on emission reductions. However, Jet.AI, a private aviation operator and software solutions provider, has launched a new DynoFlight platform for carbon dioxide removal. CDR credits actively remove CO2 from the atmosphere. This process makes them the highest quality credits. CDR credits can be purchased for approximately $200 per ton. The platform also offers registration of CO2 removal certificates to record their carbon emissions across their fleets. More details of the CDR credits here.

World Energy and Microsoft join forces

The longest SAFc agreement ever signed is now underway. World Energy and Microsoft have joined forces to speed up the decarbonization of corporate air travel and its supply chain cargo. The ten-year agreement plans to displace 43.7 million gallons of petroleum jet fuel with low carbon SAF. The emissions reduction is expected to exceed 469,000 metric tonnes of CO2. This is the equivalent of flying 824,053 economy-class passengers from New York to Seattle and back on fully decarbonized flights. This agreement will help the aviation decarbonization industry reach a profitable operational scale. The agreement specifics can be found here.

SAF increase on the uptake

Over the next several years, many projects are seeking increased SAF volumes. According to IATA (International Air Transport Association), in 2022 unblended sustainable aviation fuel worldwide tripled the amounts from 2021. That’s some 80 million gallons of fuel. Renewable fuel producers continue to make progress. As more facilities and existing producers continue to modify, there is expected to be another high rise in SAF volumes.  Read more about facilities that have joined the SAF project.

Partnership to offer air services to underserved

Choctaw Nation of Okoloma (CNO) and the National Air Transportation Association (NATA) have partnered to establish means of transporting people and cargo to the underserved communities of Okoloma. On September 28 the partnership noted plans to develop the ecosystem to introduce a new eVTOL aircraft and other services. The goal of providing these air services will be to boost the local and national economies with crewed and uncrewed aircrafts. The emerging aviation technologies allows for these new partnerships to be established. More details on the partnership plans can be found here.
