QTPods Beginnings and the Need for Self-Fuel
QtPod was formed in the 1980s after the need for self-fueling was needed. In the ‘80s, a pilot was desperately low on fuel when he landed at an airport in Alaska. Unfortunately, no one was near to help him and get him access to the fuel. He had to sleep in his plane that night until someone could show up the next day and help him refuel his aircraft. The pilot realized that there was a desperate need for self-fuel, especially since it was quickly becoming popular in the automotive industry. The pilot went on to design what would be the first self-serve fueling system for general aviation called the Model M1200. The pilot went on to develop a fuel management software platform that helped airports manage their sales.
QTPod’s Self-Servicing Fuel Systems and More
Self-serve fuel systems have made it easier for airports and pilots alike. It has given fuel vendors a chance to increase their fuel sales after business hours without hiring extra help, and pilots don’t have to worry about landing at an airport after hours and not being able to refuel. It has erased the worries of pilots having to refuel.
QTPod also has fueling systems in marinas and other fuel operations throughout the United States and Canada. QTPod has since become the number one choice of self-servicing fueling pumps in aviation. There are over 1,600 fuel pumps installed throughout the world, and they’re designed to work in any climate.
