March is finally here, and the sun is starting to shine a little more. The air is fresh, and the flowers have started to bloom. Spring Break will be here before you know it, and if you haven’t planned a trip yet, you might be considering one! Here are 7 last-minute Spring Break destinations for you and your spring-breaker(s) to fly to!
Nashville, Tennessee
You can never go wrong with a Spring Break visit to the Music City. Though Nashville may be called the Music City, there’s more to this Southern town than just music (though there are plenty of venues for live music and music tours!). It boasts museums, mural art, statues, botanical gardens, parks, and a plethora of food options! After all, it is the home to the original hot chicken!
What’s a trip to Nashville without stopping by the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman, or the Country Music Hall of Fame? You can also tour the city in a trolley, or you can take a tour of the Homes of the Stars and see which celebrities call Nashville home. There are other tours you can take as well, such as Ghost City Tours (apparently Nashville is one of the most haunted cities in America), party bus tours, and history tours! And for the 21+ crowd, there are tours to breweries and a pub crawl. You can even view the city on a helicopter tour.
If you’re taking the family, Nashville, TN also has a zoo and a water resort at the Gaylord Opryland.
There are walking food tours, secret food tours, and plenty of restaurants to visit as well.

And if you’re flying into Nashville yourself, you can fly into the John C. Tune Airport (JWN). It is open to the public, and it offers 100LL avgas and jet fuel. Self-service is available for the 100LL fuel. There are hangars and tiedowns as well, and it’s only eight miles from downtown Nashville.
New Orleans, Louisiana
Laissez le bon temps rouler! Let the good times roll in New Orleans for Spring Break!
Coincidentally, March is also the beginning of crawfish season. Though, we know there are other things to eat in New Orleans, like beignets and other seafood, crawfish and the trimmings can be found in plenty of restaurants in New Orleans. But you don’t have to just eat crawfish to enjoy the food in New Orleans. There are plenty of other types of restaurants besides seafood to enjoy while you’re on Spring Break. There’s a variety of food from creole or cajun to breakfast and bakery food to Vietnamese and everything in between.
And while you’re in New Orleans on Spring Break, you might want to take in the sites of this beautiful city. There are plenty of tours to consider which will help you see the city in all its glory. The tours range from swamp tours to plantation tours to cemetery and haunted tours. You can sightsee and join a culinary tour, or you can view the garden tours.
There are also plenty of museums, a zoo, plantation homes, parks, an aquarium, and a steamboat to ride! Not to mention, you can listen to Jazz music while walking through the French Quarter. And, while you’re there in March, check out these activities happening in New Orleans.

Panama City Beach, Florida
Panama City Beach is probably one of the most popular Spring Break destinations around, and with its white sandy beaches and one of the highest concentrations of bottle-nosed dolphins, it makes Panama City Beach the perfect getaway for Spring Break!
The number one thing to do in Panama City Beach is probably to spend your time lying on the white sand underneath the bright, beautiful sun, but that’s not all Panama City Beach, FL has to offer you. If you enjoy fishing, you can charter a boat for deep-sea fishing, or you can fish from the piers along the beach or directly from the shore. You can even fish at St. Andrew’s State Park which is three miles east of Panama City Beach.
Of course, you can also take a dolphin tour or interact with them at the Gulf World Marine Park. After spending time with the dolphins, you can head over to Pier Park for some shopping, food, and entertainment!
You can also carve out a day for the kids to head over to the Shipwreck Yard Waterpark or take a hike at the Conservation Park as a family on one of their many trails and boardwalks. Or, you can go to Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum or make a stop at SkyWheel. Panama City Beach, Florida has plenty of options for you and your family to enjoy.

South Padre Island, Texas
Another popular Spring Break destination is South Padre Island in Texas. It’s located at the tip of Texas along the Gulf of Mexico. It, too, offers white sandy beaches for its visitors. South Padre Island is also a national seashore, allowing you to see dolphins, birds, and sea turtles!
Some of South Padre Island’s favorite pastimes are boating, fishing, diving, surfing, and kiteboarding! Horseback riding on the beach is also an option. You can even go dolphin-watching on a dolphin cruise or see them one-on-one at Dolphin Research and Sealife Nature Center. Once you’ve watched the dolphins, you can head on over to Sea Turtle, Inc. to see sea turtles up close and personal while also learning more about these fascinating creatures. You might be able to watch as sea turtle babies are released back into the wild!
If you’re tired of sunbathing on the beach, a nature walk might be more of your thing. You can take a hike along the Laguna Madre Nature Trail and bird watching. Or, you can head over to Isla Blanca Park for some fishing. Maybe you and the kids want to visit a waterpark? The closest airport to South Padre Island, Texas is Brownsville SPI International Airport. It is open to the public, and the two FBOs provide services for general aviation including fueling, hangars, and tie-down and parking services.
Savannah, Georgia
A popular family Spring Break destination is one of Georgia’s oldest towns, Savannah. Savannah, Georgia offers unusual tours, shopping, amazing food, Tybee Island, and cruises on the Savannah River.
If you like haunted adventures, you can take many different ghost and cemetery tours throughout the city of Savannah, Georgia. You can even take a bike or trolley tour through the city. There are also tours to taste the food of Savannah!
Once you’re finished taking a tour of Savannah, Georgia, you might want to consider taking a boat cruise along the Savannah River or visiting one of the championship golf courses.
Tybee Island is also a great place to go and spend some relaxing time on the beach. You can also visit the Tybee Island Marine Science Center and learn more about underwater creatures. Or, you can take a walk down the pier. Head over to the Tybee Island Light Station and Museum which is a lighthouse while you’re there! Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Myrtle Beach is another very popular Spring Break destination for families in particular. With its offerings of beautiful beaches and lots of food and entertainment, there’s something there to please the entire family!
When landing in Myrtle Beach, you will probably want to spend the first day there on the beach. Myrtle Beach has a beautiful 1.2-mile boardwalk to take a stroll down while enjoying the feeling of the breeze of the ocean on your face, smelling the salty air, and watching the sunset over the water. There are a lot of great restaurant options on the boardwalk as well.
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina offers fun attractions as well. You can make a stop at the SkyWheel and see the beauty of the landscape around you as well as rope courses, mini golf, and gondolas! Myrtle Beach also has Broadway Grand Prix to visit, Wonderworks, Soar + Explore Zipline and Ropes Course, Ripley’s Aquarium, and Hollywood Wax Museum. And while you’re in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, be sure to stop by one of the oldest and most unique souvenir shops there, Gay Dolphin Gift Shop, and bring home a reminder of what may be a last-minute trip but will surely bring lasting memories!
Once you’ve stopped by the gift shop, you can head over to watch dolphins on a tour with Blue Wave Adventures Dolphin Watch. Then, make your way to the Brookgreen Gardens, which is home to one of the largest outdoor collections of American figurative sculptures in the world. Who doesn’t love a good beach? We haven’t found many who don’t, and Daytona Beach, Florida is known for its beaches and is an ideal Spring Break location! With its 23 miles of beaches, Daytona Beach has more to offer than just racing (though that’s a good offering too!).

Daytona Beach, Florida also has other fun attractions. Daytona Beach has plenty of trails for you to hike, self-guided tours for you to take, and fishing and golfing adventures as well. For the ladies, there are spas you can visit and plenty of shopping opportunities.
For the family, you can take bike rides, visit the boardwalk and pier, and head over to see the lighthouse at Ponce Inlet! Take a sailboat tour or go scuba diving together.
